I was diagnosed in September 2021 with Focal Epilepsy. I haven’t driven since because I’m in Illinois and you can’t drive for 6 months after a seizure. I had a grand Mal in Sept. 2021 from getting off Klonopin that a random GP gave me assuming I had anxiety not epilepsy (thank you to the crappy neuro I no longer see who gave me no warning about the side effects of getting off that stuff when I had my first ever EEG). But now I’m 6 weeks (March 14th), one more seizure activity free EEG and another therapeutic level trough test from driving again. I had a seizure activity free EEG the day before thanksgiving 2021. I had a trough level test that was therapeutic levels the last day of 2021. I’ve had no auras and my husband hasn’t seen any complex partials. I feel good about this. I’m so god dang excited to get my independence back. I’m sure you all get it. It’s been mentally destroying me not having that the last few months. I literally bought a brand new car 3 weeks before I was diagnosed with this. My job hasn’t been easy at all without having a car. I’m a nanny with a 40 minute commute. My Ubers cost $40 to get me one way. I just want my life back. I’m so close and I GOT THIS!!
We’re strong people. I’m really grateful for this community 💜
