After being on Lamictal for almost two weeks, I got a hive-like rash on my knee. It went away with one dose of Benadryl, but since I couldn't place what allergen could have caused it, my doctor is switching me to Keppra.
To anyone who has ever taken Keppra, what were your experiences? Is the side effect of irritability/aggression pretty common? How soon does that set in? Is avoiding alcohol said because it'll make you extra disoriented, or is there a more serious reaction? Anything else I should know from people who have taken it before?
SideNote, I'm kinda frustrated about this change because I was feeling good on Lamictal. I was sleeping better and my mood was improved, which I know is because Lamictal is also a mood stabilizer. It caught two birds with one net, preventing seizures and helping my anxiety! I am scared of the negative mood side effects of Keppra, especially since the class I'm taking right now is already stressful. But, I am prepared to give it a good try.
