I just applied for Social Security disability using a company called Trajector Disability. It was an extremely long questionnaire and phone call. Which is hilarious when you have memory loss.
Who on here has successfully gotten disability in the states??? Has anyone ever used this company? I got the phone number from Epilepsy foundation.
This is a tough and long process. You absolutely need a lawyer. One that only gets paid if you win.
Jacoby and Myers
They won't take your case unless they feel they can win. As that is how they get paid. If they take your case, you will have a good chance.
I was fired several times for "insubordination." Such a vague term. I would ask what I did that was "insubordinate," and never really got an answer. And when applying for the next job, it made it sounds like I was a trouble maker.
I wanted and tried to work but just couldn't hold onto a job. First time I had a seizure they would freak out. I had to start from scratch so many times.
It kills you. Even if you do the job twice as good as anyone, they freak out over the epilepsy. It really holds you back. I feel for you. I know what you went through.

I tried and failed twice doing it without a lawyer. Two years wasted. I tried a third time with a lawyer and won. Took a total of over three years.
Get a lawyer and do everything they tell you to. Do EVERYTHING your lawyer tells you in a timely manner. Have a doctor that will back you up on the diagnosis. You will not succeed if you don't.
I wish I could give you better news but a disability award on epilepsy is more difficult than regular cases. They will say you can work. I tried to work, but lost 7 jobs after having an on-the-job seizure. They can't fire you for having a seizure, but they will make up something else to get rid of you.
The good news is if you win you will get backpay from the original date you applied. The lawyer will take 20% of that.
