Scheduled my amygdalohippocampectomy for March. Sooo…how the hell do we prepare for a brain surgery we’re told we’re going to come out of a different person?

Post Body

Scheduled my surgery. My neurosurgeon confirmed I’ll come out of it with a severe verbal memory deficit for the rest of my life. He isn’t sure entirely what it will do with my emotions. The main focus is that he’s done over 300 and 70% have been seizure free after.

I’m terrified obviously, but how do you prepare for a surgery like that? Go on a trip? Write notes to people? What did you do if you’ve done something like this?
