By participating in this contest, the entrant agrees that their submission can be used for marketing, promotional, and sales purposes.

The thread's purpose is to discuss why this predatory type of contests still are being promoted by E7.

I'm aware one can opt not to participate in this sort of events, but doesn't makes it correct to push for such a way of getting free art.

From an artist perspective, you could get so much more out of a single commission rather than all the prizes offered for the usage of the design for marketing and the other purposes they mentioned. This feels like a case of ''I will give you exposure so give it to me for free''.

They probably won't credit your art when promoting stuff with your designs apart from the winner announcement.

Maybe I'm overreacting but this sort of behavior is becoming more common in companies it is disheartening.
