Went to login Epic Account after 3 months of inactivity. Couldn't log in. Possible hacked?

I remember the email ID that i used to register. Even my browser Vivaldi remembers the email ID. But according to epic, there is no account linked to this email ID. I looked for all Epic mails in my inbox, I did find one that said that email address change has been attempted.
My purpose to log in was to delete the account. Should I consider this deleted? I don't want the account anyway, but don't want my hacked account bite me back in the future. What should I do to ensure i have no connection with that hacked account.
I'm just assuming this is hacked, I may be wrong.
