Need help with mark ups.

Good afternoon everyone so I’m opening up a garden center and having difficulties with coming up with a good mark up on what I’ll be selling. I know they “keystone” “ideal” mark up is 50% but I know it varies a lot with industries so I’m asking if anyone that’s been in the nursery/ garden center business, how did you start and build it up? Should I just slowly bring people in with low prices or should I just mark up mostly everything 60% and call it a day? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
