Hey Guys, need your honest opinion for a business I just thought of on the toilet.
** Problems:**
- You buy a gift for someone online, but don't just want it to show up at their door in a plain Amazon/NewEgg/Zappos box that makes you look like a lazy thoughtless jerk.
- You want to buy a gift for someone across the country, but don't have time to have it shipped to you, then re-wrapped with card, then go to the post office and ship it again.
- You are really, really lazy and left and left buying Christmas presents for your family back home until the very last minute
Solution: A service that wraps/personalizes gifts bought on the web, then sends them to recipient
- Buy an item on Amazon, Zappos, ThinkGeek, etc and have it shipped to my business (let's just call it Wrap.ly for a Web 2.0ish name)
- Somehow notify Wrap.ly that a gift has been shipped (not sure how to do this...maybe you signup first, then manually enter tracking number or order number?)
- Let the user pick from one of several styles of wrapping paper, tags, etc. We can arrange by theme to make it as easy as possible.
- Let the user specify a message, recipient, etc
- Ship the gift to the recipient wrapped and personalized with whatever options you choose (card, sparkles, etc)
So...that's about it. Not sure what a good price point would be. I;m basically trying to target 2 demographics: the extremely busy (biz professionals, moms, etc) and the extremely lazy (Single guys, procrastinators)
** tl;dr: You buy something online, send it to us. We wrap it up real nice, personalize it, make you look awesome and thoughtful, then ship it to recipient for you for $10 - $20 per item (Shipping included)**
