There is a valley between two great mountains. One mountain separates this valley from your comfort zone. The other mountain separates this valley from your physical and mental limits. This valley is not the land you would have chosen for yourself. The summers are hot. The winters are cold. The ground is full of stones and hard to plow. Torrential rains threaten to wash anything that is built here away. Monsters roam this valley with names as sharp as their fangs: Fear, Exhaustion, External Doubt, Internal Doubt, Frustration, Depression, Impostor Syndrome, Failure, Risk, Complacency, Quitting.
This is not the land you would have chosen for yourself.
You will build your house here anyways. You will build walls and fences to keep the monsters out, and bows and arrows to hunt them with. You will toil through the summer heat and till the rough ground. You will warm yourself in the winter with the pelts of monsters. You will build ditches to carry the rains away from your house and fields. You will carry more weight on your shoulders than you thought you were capable of, but also will set aside your pride and allow others to share the weight when it becomes too much for you to carry. And you will carry some of their weight too, because this land is too harsh to survive in alone.
This is not the land you would have chosen for yourself, but it is the only soil where bold success will grow.
