I have an online shop and it's doing.... meh, okay. I also vend at local special events and notice that I make a lot more there. Also, at the events, people are always asking me where my shop is located, and seem disappointed when I tell them it's online. I think it's the "buy local" mindset. Although I AM local to them, somehow telling them that my shop is online seems to make me not local.
It makes me wonder if I would do better if I had a little shop. Has anybody moved from online only to physical retail space? Did you sell more simply from having foot traffic or a location where people could come browse your merchandise? Or did you try it and find that the expenses just completely ate up any increase in sales volume?
