(From the off, I'm using a dedicated reddit account as I don't want to associate my real life with my internet tough-guy persona. I've got an older account with many, many more karmas, and sometimes I can be a bit of a dick.)
I've been putting together a digital publishing service off and on for the past year (mostly off) but the past few months really stepped it up a gear to just get this bloody thing launched.
I've been doing this all myself, and haven't had any other critical eyes on it yet, so would ask that you lot give it the once over and let me know of any changes I should make or opinions you might have. I need the famed /r/Entrepreneur critique to pick me up on anything stoopid I've done or things I've missed before I start marketing the hell out of it.
The site at is jelzoo.com
The service is primarily aimed at self-publishing writers, but I'll also be looking at actively pitching companies who will need digital documents.
We're London based but will be pushing globally.
We offer, amongst other things:
- Ready made and bespoke book cover design
- eBook & print layout and formatting
- Promotional tools
- Landing pages and author websites
So basically, a writer with a finished manuscript can come to us to put it all together and help them market it. We can help them out with one thing or everything, or anything in between.
I can't believe how long it's taken me to get here. I probably had an MVP about six months ago, but wanted to expand, and tweak, and change, and edit, and... and... I'm a mug to myself.
I think I was using this to trick myself into believing I was working hard, but in reality I was procrastinating. You can't fail if you don't even launch, right? I finally decided to just get the thing out there and see what people thought. So here it is, let me know what I'm missing, or where I'm going wrong.
EDIT: I'm not using this post for self-promotion, buuuut... if anyone did want anything use REDDIT25OFF for 25% off.
