Title says it. I am interested in folks who have went from nothing (minimal net worth but basic job/resources) to running a successful business and have a net worth of $5 million . I'm at a major reflection point in my life at 35 and need some inspiration. Please no inheritance related stories (not to take anything away, more interested in self-made). Thank you!
not my story but a colleagues of mine, who grew up dirt poor and lived in a basement for a few months. parents were immigrants with no academic background. he studied IT related stuff and worked as a programmer but didnt like it so he started a youtube channel and got really good at it. he now owns multiple properties and owns a few brands of his own that he sells through his channel. i think he's way above 5 million and he started out pretty late (33 when we met and he was still a no one there). i remember he was hustling non stop and improving on the way and you could really tell he cared about what he made.
it always inspires me when i think about it because hes not the traditional "im 21 years old millionaire harvard dropout, forbes under 30 guy"

from the start of his channel until it blew up i'd say 3-4 years. but he's been hustling in a lot of other things before that so i would say he'd probably been doing working on his sidehustles for almost a decade before he got very successful
