Post Body

I am an international student on an F1 visa currently pursuing my MS in Computer Science in Fairfax, Virginia. I hold a bachelor's degree in CS and have over 3 years of experience as a web developer. I am enrolled in a day-1 CPT program, which allows me to work in a related job while pursuing my degree.

My main reason for coming to the USA is to gain experience and exposure in Silicon Valley with the ultimate goal of building my own startup one day. However, before I embark on that journey, I believe I need ample exposure, networking opportunities, and the chance to polish my skills. Working remotely for two years has left me feeling isolated and distant, so I am eager to immerse myself in the right environment with the right people.

I have two more years before I complete my MS, I can again join a startup school or bootcamp to further enhance my skills in this area. I don't have go gotter attitude, I tend to analyze things before diving into any major plans, which has always been successful for me.

I would appreciate any recommendations on how to best prepare myself for my future aspirations. What types of events should I attend? How should I do networking? Are there any specific onsite entrepreneurship schools you would recommend? I am particularly interested in applying for Y Combinator in the future.

Thank you in advance for your valuable insights and advice.
