I worked at a farm store that sold ivermectin for use in deworming several different forms of livestock. During COVID-19 there was a rumor that ivermectin could be used as an emergency cure for COVID-19 that is not true at all but because it was inexpensive and people didn’t wanna get the vaccine. People would come in and buy several tubes of it.
On this particular occasion, it was just me and my manager this woman walks in and buy some stuff for her dog. She then comes to me at the cash register, and asked me why we don’t have any ivermectin.
I told her that we do, but we are saving it for those who need it for their livestock so unless she can provide proof of livestock work, I cannot sell it to her.
The woman then unload it on me, saying that my company is a horrible company that is killing millions of people and that she was able to get her hands on a tube, and it cured her husband from Covid in a matter of hours.
I just told the woman to have a nice day and she left in a huff.
And for those who have any questions yes, there is a form of ivermectin that is rated for human consumption, but because use of ivermectin in humans is extremely situational it is only available via prescription. Forms of ivermectin used for livestock are available over the counter, but these forms of ivermectin are so highly concentrated, that if a human uses them they can experience horrible side effects up to and including death.
So moral of the story is, don’t guilt me into getting you something to blatantly poison yourself or others with! Especially if it’s a matter of life or death.
