Throw your road rage fit in your Camry!
Post Body

This is one that happened this morning for me. TL;DR at end.

This all started after my mother got out of a colonoscopy I had to take her to this morning. The procedure went well and we were out of the hospital in about an hour, but my mother was hungry because she had been fasting for the last 24 hours while having a colon cleanser to prep for the procedure. After stopping at a local Sonic and getting some snacks and drinks, we got on the interstate and started to head home.

Now, a few things I should mention before going further. My mother and I currently out of town to the West of the town we're from because our homes were destroyed by natural disasters in the fall of last year. As a result, any and all doctor's appointments my mother or I have requires us driving roughly 40 miles from our current home to where we need to go. The difficulty of this comes in that the only way to get into town from a East-bound direction or to leave going West on the interstate takes you over one of two large bridges- one that is a raised straight road, and one that is a raised curve.

Normally, I don't like bridges on a good day as I've always had a fear of heights growing up, and I especially don't like them when there has been a lot of rain recently. Unsurprisingly, this all happened on a bridge in an area where it had been raining a lot recently.

So, as we get on the interstate, I realized that I was going down the path that leads to the large curved bridge. I actually dislike that one more than the straight bridge as the constant turn makes it feel like you are on a slight tilt a few miles above the lake beneath, so I like to take the climb up this bridge at a reasonably slow pace, such as around 50 miles per hour as that's roughly the speed limit going up to the bridge and once you get to the other end of it. It also made more sense to me to go that speed as the roads were wet, too, so slower speeds were a safety precaution.

Anyway, my mother and I are just casually chatting as she's eating her snack while I drive when I noticed this car behind me riding pretty close to me and honking the horn. I glanced in the mirrors to see the driver flashing their headlights and gesturing at us. My mother and I are no strangers to idiots on the road, so we started joking with each other about this gold colored car throwing a tantrum behind us. After a moment of seeing we weren't responding to their hostile driving, the car behind us swerved around us, pulling up on our passenger side where my mom was sitting.

Suddenly, this bald guy driving this gauche gold Toyota Camry sticks his head out of his car and starts yelling at us to pull over while gesturing wildly. My mom just watched him with a smile as I stole a glance or two at him while mostly watching the road ahead. Of course, Mr. Road Rage naturally sped up to at least 20 MPH more than I was going and jumped in front of us....only to get stuck in slow traffic in a 50 MPH zone at the bottom of the bridge. My mother and I just laughed at this as knew it was coming. We held our distance back incase the driver tried to pull anything funny in retribution for us ignoring him when he wanted to go faster on the bridge, but we eventually lost sight of him as he weaved in and out of traffic while speeding ahead.

TL;DR- A guy in a gold Toyota Camry got road rage because I was going up a wet curving bridge at 50 MPH instead of faster, threw a tantrum as he passed us, got stuck in traffic as he got off the bridge at the speed I was going, then sped off down the interstate.
