I know codependent is kind of a controversial term as some people don't think there is anything wrong with it or as my mother says 'most personal relationships are codependent'. But I have been actively working on my codependency issues for about 15 years. Some of the traits of my codependency are ::
- I don't like being alone excessively.
- I crave deep meaningful connections in almost all of my relationships.
- Poor boundaries.
-Doing too much for people who don't do much for me in return.
-Seeking praise for being so kind and giving to others.
-Self esteem is dependent on feeling needed/being appreciated by others.
-Settling for partners who need to be 'fixed' or taken care of on some level.
Some of these traits probably resonate for most of us so sometimes I don't know what is my codependency or what is being a type 2? Thoughts?
