9 and ADHD
Post Body

I have always needed the pressure of deadlines to motivate me to accomplish things. It worked fine in school because I had enough natural ability to do things last minute and get decent grades. As an adult, this didn’t work out as well. I didn’t have a teacher to enforce deadlines. In all this I noticed a pattern of being easily distracted and unable to concentrate on something for more than 10 minutes. I have never had hyperactivity, just trouble concentrating and getting things started. Out of frustration I went to a psychiatrist and started medicine for adhd. It was life changing for my ability to concentrate and start tasks and projects.

I have been working with the enneagram for a couple years and am firmly a 9 because of my inner motivations and desires. As I continue to learn, I find a lot of behavior similarities between a 9 and adhd without hyper activity. Anyone else seen or have experience with this?
