I do think before works in 4, it changes the context quite drastically. I would never ask the staff "for a piece" (sex, American slang) followed by pie.
Ten could also use before, and the phrase "before your eyes" is known to most native speakers to mean what your looking at. "You see before your eyes an ordinary deck of cards" - magician.
But I Agree 3 has no use for before.
I'm not a teacher, just a native speaker.
