a friend's place
Post Body

1) We go to a friend's place every Sunday.
Is it necessarily the same friend?

2) We go to friends' places every Sunday.
Could it be a different friend's place every Sunday, but one friend's place per Sunday?

Which would you use if on some Sundays you go to one friend's place and on others you go to more?

Comments

English is often ambiguous.

I know I'd say, "Every Sunday, we visit a friend at his or her home," because this implies it's not the same friend (per se) each time. But I realize some people find that phrasing less than PC.
