Difficult course decision
Post Body

I am in my final year of Electrical Engineering and have three courses to complete for graduation. However, one course is a year-long thesis project, and the other two are electives.

I need to decide two among the following courses: power systems analysis, machine learning, robotics and automation, and photonics, and computer networks.

I have completed electives that complement (not prerequisites) the photonics and the power systems analysis courses.

Now, I want to choose two courses that will be useful for future career opportunities. However, I do not want to have an academic career that is all over the place. For instance, I have done lots of communication systems and power systems courses, but now, I might complete a random AI or machine learning course. Although this answers my question (in a way), I am confused between a random, non-specialised academic career or a specialized academic career that boxes me in the power/utilities and communication systems jobs.

I need help deciding.

Let me know if I am thinking about it all wrong.
