I am a mechanical engineering intern for this company. I've been here since March 2015, working full time during breaks and 15 hrs during the school year. My company is starting a coop program this spring. I found out from an email from the coop office at school, not from my company. The VP asked my supervisor if he found me working only 15 hours was useful/helpful and my supervisor said yes and then pulled me aside to inform me what happened.
I've honestly convinced myself that they are going to cut me and replace me with coops. I'm disappointed because I enjoy working here but I've received a lot of pushback recently with my projects and things coming to a dead end. It's becoming frustrating. The engineering department is small, with two EE's, a Meche, and me, so I can see why they want to bring more people in. Should I be worried? How do I handle this? Nobody has talked to me about this yet and I wish the VP would...
