I started working for a robotics company this summer doing mechanical engineering design. I've never been hired for a design position before, nor have I worked under a mechanical engineer. The company is in a weird position at the moment where the mechanical engineer left right before I started and they are currently interviewing to find a replacement.
First, was it appropriate for me to ask how the interview process was going and wondering when one would be hired? I expressed the need for a mentor. I'm not struggling with the work, but I'd prefer to have someone around who has the qualifications I'm working towards, yanno?
Second, what are some "at work habits" you all have learned from your mentors that I should be aware of?
