Will engineering school teach me how to critically think or do I already need to br good at it?

Post Body

I am fresh out of highschool and I am interested in taking mechanical engineering as my major. I would say that I'm great at math, so that's not my biggest concern. What frightens me though is the critical thinking aspect of engineering, in which I would have to come up with unique, creative solutions straight from my mind. Does engineering school help me in developing skills regarding critical thinking?
