My plan right now is to major in mechanical engineering and double major in data science because I have some interest in it and I see it as a lucrative discipline. Then I want to do a 1 year masters accelerated BME program. Does all this set me up for success barring I do internships and a co-op or 2 for on the job experience? Another option is I could do 3.5 years of undergrad instead of 4 which would save a lot of money too. Is the extra semester and course work worth the DS major and any other tips and thoughts?
