Advice as a late start student

Post Body
I will be 29 this year and just starting my mech eng associates' program. Currently working through my gen ed classes (english, math, electives) and an intro to mechanical engineering next semester.
What I found is that this degree gives me options for different roles. So far, I find engineering techs and medical equipment tech as possible career paths. Is there any advice while I still go through my first yea? Anyone with a similar late start journey like me, and anything in general will help?
