I'm rebuilding an older harley engine. I've done a few top ends. Never the bottom end. This bottom end has no slop in the connecting rods, rotated nice, etc. Here's my issue : I took the top end apart, then life happened, bike was outside , bottom still had oil in it. But now would have condensation/water in it, as well. Would it be possible to open the drain plug and clean the bottom end out with (kerosene and or diesel fuel) and get back to the top end rebuild?? Or have I messed up, and now the bottom has to come apart and get rebuilt fully & properly? Any experienced builders ever had something lay around , then cleaned and used it ? Any help is appreciated.
