I have a track car build coming up and I'm tempted to go k20 route as they seem revvy bulletproof engines...I've heard they can be taken to around 500bhp without major components being required so I'm tempted to look in this direction for power options.
I know that there's more than one (million) ways to skin a cat but I'd like to know your methods for a build to handle a turbocharger and 1 bar of boost (I say 1 bar because my ems tops out at 1 bar).
Also just out of interest and to gauge an economic power level...what is required as you climb in power? Say to the 500bhp region.
The car it's going in is a MK1 fiesta so very small light car, should make for a track weapon.
Enlighten me peers!
ETA...fuel, will the standard fuel injectors flow enough fuel to utilise 1 bar boost??? I plan on using a 1:1 rising rate fuel pressure reg....fuel pressure @5bar coming from a Bosch 044 pump
Can OEM management be utilised in a conversion track car? Or should I forget that and go with custom ECU?
Goddamit so many questions when building a racecar!
Thank you guys, all info much appreciated.
