Hi everybody, i started seeing an obgyn earlier this month at 22 after suffering since age 9 with excruciating pain. My lab results, pap, and vaginal sonogram came back completely normal which is relieving and i am grateful although i wish there was some answer to the pain i experience.
After my pap smear, i bled all month long which was accompanied by constipation, leg, lower back, abdomen pain and vaginal cramping, i honestly thought my period had started until the 27th came and my cycle ACTUALLY began which was horrible, i assume that somehow the pap aggravated whatever is going on.
I tried reporting this back to my doctor and her response was underwhelming, She said âit sounds like youâre really pushing for this endometriosis diagnosis, with the pain youâre experiencing i think its safe to assume you might have it but theres not much we can do and i refuse to perform a laparoscopyâ she then proceeded to explain to me that the pain is rooted in my size. She recommended i continue to try OTC medicine even though i reported that my pain is unresponsive to OTC medication. I then started to cry and beg her for a solution. She said âim not a physical therapist, i cant manage your painâ and told me to try an anti inflammatory diet, prescribed me progesterone, and scheduled me out for 6 months.
I dont know what to do or think, am i just being dramatic? It would really help to have the support of you guys, this thread has been my saving grace and i would love to hear your opinions. What is your experience with what she recommended? And where do i go from here?
