Had MRI diagnosing with endo that has rectal involvement in December. Original plan was for laparoscopy if anything showed up but my town’s hospital doesn’t have endo specialists so looking at re-referral and probs two year wait if surgery is needed.
Only management options other than painkillers that I’ve been offered are Mirena coil IUS or Zoladex injections. Have you had anything else offered, particularly if you’re in the UK under an NHS consultant?
Have you found combined pills useful at all? All birth control I’ve tried makes me feel awful but less so combined pills.
tried asking my GP about this but they weren’t able to help and not sure I’ll be able to get answers from consultant before my scheduled coil fitting date (at hospital under GA bc of past medical trauma). Am trying tho!
Thanks
For context: - I’m in England (NHS) - Previously tried Microgynon, lessened pain a bit but still very bad during periods. - Previous attempts at progesterone only pills have ended badly. First one turned low mood into crippling depression. Then a two week attempt at using norhisterone to delay period led to stabbing pains every few hours which I could have dealt with if not for what happened after. I had horrific bloating when I stopped taking it, really odd rightsided pains that I think might have been something like a cyst on my ovary because it felt like where ovulation pains are plus the PMS was the worst I’ve had in a long time. - I’m autistic and have had traumatic medical experiences in the past. The thought of the Mirena gives me the heebie jeebies. - I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
