I unboxed and set up my Ender 3 S1 Pro over the weekend. It was a black Friday purchase. To decribe myself as a novice or beginner to 3d printing would be a radical understatement. This is a very new undertaking for me. The light bar on the top of the printer was broken out of the box, I'm hoping CREALITY will just warranty that and send me a new one. I managed to follow the instructions well enought to go throught the tray leveling and filament loading and successfully printed a little rabbit g-file that was on the disk that had all the instructions and files that came with the printer. With one successful print down. I even managed to download something from Thingaverse and successfully put it into the slicer app and create another file and then my second print went off without a hitch. Maybe I should have stopped there. When I tried my third print.. the little sensor probe started rubbing on the plate after the first pass (layer) of the printer. So I stopped the printer, went back into the leveling setting and went throught the leveling procedures again. But then when I tried to print.. again the same problem. I suspect that the problem is in how I have put in the printer setting into the slicer app. By the time I got done leveling the Z was at about -4.80. I am not sure if I accounted for this when initially setting up Slicer.. and now I am not sure how to change it. So I suspect that it translates into how the g-file is created? I think? Need to keep studying and learning?
What I AM sure of is that I am ABSOLUTELY grateful that there are discussion groups and forums, and people willing to share their knowledge and experience with others as myself who are just learning and taking our first steps. THANK YOU.
