pcxs2 emulator lighting lines problem

i recently got back into my Ps2 emulator, and have been playing "the chronicles of narnia: the lion, witch and wardrobe"

first few hours of play were okay, now i am seing rather thick lines all throughout the screen that seem to correspond with the lighting displayed on the screen. for example, the lines only appear on bright parts of the screen, while dark and solid coloured parts of the picture displayed on screen.

now i am aware of the "enable hw hacks" trick, this however does not fix my porblem.

any suggestoins? thanks
