Memory card issues on ps2

It's keeps saying I don't have enough space to save some games. Really kinda hit and miss. Fight night rd3 have a safe file along with nfs underground few others. But rachet and clank and the thing and thps4 not enough space to save a game.
I've went into the system settings of the emulator and made sure the cards are toggled on and so on even created a new one. Anyways I can't figure out the issue.
