I accepted a retail management job offer written last month. During the initial onboarding process I brought up the fact I have felonines on my BG. In California I beleive it is law that you can't ask about a criminal BG untill AFTER a job offer. The hiring person seemed surprised but said ok, let's move on to the BG at least.
I submitted the disclosure on the company website, including self-disclosing my felonies, and got an initial email from Accurate Background services saying "Company X is requesting a background check."
That email was on Nov. 14th. I havn't heard anything from the company or Accurate since. I txted the hiring manager and he said it can take a bit longer to get criminal background reports from the courts. I have experienced this delay in the past, but never a month with 0 response.
How screwed am I? Can the company rescind their offer because it took too long?
