The writing on this show has never been spectacular, but I really think they've gotten much worse this past season. For the most part like how light the show is most of the time, but Emily and Mindy have become insufferable. The show forces particular relationships down our throat and do a terrible job of making us root for the characters. I feel way more bad for Nico having had to suffer through that awful relationship with Mindy being selfish the entire time. Now I'm expected to be happy for Mindy when she inevitably gets back with Benoit? Similarly, why should I care about Marcello, when we all know he only serves as a plot device to keep Emily from Gabriel another season. The show treats the side characters terribly, they're all ruined in an effort to force a story no one wants, Mindy and Emily never hold each other accountable and just continue to affirm each other's terrible behavior. I don't see myself being able to watch a show where I can no longer root for the main characters. Simply watch for the French and Italian backdrop at this point.
