Greetings fellow traders,

I am currently sitting in the cockpit of my Cobra Mk III with a cargo space of 44 and a jump range of just over 13LY. Although I can quite easily make round trips earning upwards of 50k, I was wondering if there was some way to increase this amount, or just buy the next ship (Lakon Type 6) for the bigger cargo hold.

I feel like I'm missing out massively because I want to keep my shield generator, and it unfortunately takes up a massive chunk of potential cargo space, but I can't use a smaller bay due to the ship's mass. Is it really fine just to drop the shield generator and have your hull protect you? Should I be looking to increase my trip journeys more than my current 40LY to maybe increase profits, but travel longer? What is your setup, and how do you go about making these decisions?
