Nonhuman Signature found in Ix, away from Thargoid space

At around 19:05 server time, I detected a Nonhuman Signature in the Ix system, planet Ix 3.
Upon landing, I found three Sensor fragments, and what looked to be a Thargoid Sensor, although it could not be targeted or collected in my SRV.
I found this rather odd, as I have never encountered Thargoid activity here. Any ideas what this could mean?
