Your thoughts on co-pilots and crew members?

Post Body

AS the title suggests, I'd like to pick the collective brain of /r/EliteDangerous on multi-crew ships and the crews role. Now that Wings has been added, I was thinking ahead to the next big step, to me, that would be one of two things. Planetary landings, or the ability to finally get up outta that pilots seat and stretch your legs, which would lead to getting in your friends ship and flying around as well.

So, once we can get up and go fill those extra seats on our friends ships, how do you think that should work? Do we just sit there and admire the view? No, that would be pretty freaking boring if you ask me. We could help fly I suppose, but how would that work? Two people trying to manipulate the same ship, bad idea. The other option is to manage power, also not the most interesting task. The only other remotely interesting thing (for me) would be the ability to fire the turrets on larger ships, like pythons and 'condas.

So, what do you think the role of a co-pilot/crew member should be and how should they do it?
