After searching around on the net, the main answer seem to be: 'oh it just is', or 'just multiply it by bandwidth and you have got voltage and now it's just like an additional voltage signal', or the most technical one is,' it is derived from power spectral density hence the square root'. However, none of these answer the WHY part. I just don't get it, why not specify it in volts like any other signal , why relate it to the power etc.? If someone would help me understand this, or direct me to any resource that explains this clearly I'd be very grateful.
