Is there a component that does the opposite effect of a resistive heating element; meaning it would draw current to directly cool itself, inversely to the way a resistor consumes current to heat itself? I am not referring to peltier/seebeck coolers as those are heat pumps and only produce a temperature differential. I know that because of the second law of thermodynamics we cannot pull heat from the surroundings to produce current (cannot do the inverse of joule heating), but could we theoretically consume electricity to directly cool the system? Is such a component impossible by our current understanding of physics?
