First time on EUC feels like I will never make it
Post Body

Hey guys!

I am a newbie here. I tried my first 3 hours on my first wheel yesterday and I felt I went nowhere... I couldn't go straight nor stand at all. I feel extremely disheartened as it feels like an impossible mission.

How long have you guys managed to learn the basics such as going straight without aid? Do you have any beginner tips?

I just bought a used KS18XL on Thursday. Day one I tried to just mount it.

From what I hear just pivot one foot and try to do half circles and try to ride one legged while you keep pushing off with the other. (my calf's paid for it but I was learning to balance slowly).

Day two I got on the grass at my local park so I didn't have to worry about falling or scratching up my wheel too badly. I kept pushing myself little by little.

I than managed to go straight... Kinda.... Than left but never right.

As you go thru the process you start building muscle you never really used and slowly you get use to it and it slowly clicks in. (Muscle memory)

By day three I learned right turns and to relax a little as I was too stiff. Than I forced myself to do figure 8 between 2 trees to turn both left and right.

I also didn't leave the park until day 4ish as your body got use to the grass fields, the pavement is a different feeling of smooth.

Take it slow and work your way up. But do it at your pace.

Late Sunday night I kept going slow on the roads and the trails and by Monday I took it to work lol.

Somehow one thing at a time clicked and I'm quite proud of my progress
