EDIT: IT WAS WORTH IT!!! Got a lot better at it and it became easy. So convenient and faster than bike. can go on speed 3 now comfortably zipping around the streets and bike paths past all the walkers and bikers it’s great lol.
I wanted to use to commute to work and back, and also to have a more portable means of commuting (bike is awkward and hard to fit on busses, trains, and cars…). thought the skateboard would be faster too. I have experience long boarding so i’m not completely new to being on a board lol. Well my first day riding it and it’s a lot more difficult than i expected. it’s very heavy so difficult to make tight turns. It’s also exercise (balancing and turning) which i didn’t expect. (i wanted to get to work without being all sweaty, like from biking). it’s def way easier up hills though (obviously). Maybe im just rusty (it’s been years since i longboarded) and I’ll get better and more used to it. I’m going on speed 2 out of 4, any faster and i’d feel unsafe. I’m not sure if i’ll ever feel confident enough to go faster (i stopped long boarding after i got a concussion falling off a hill…no helmet, stupid me, but now i’m traumatized lol so very cautious). Anyway, i just wanted to know what’s your experiences commuting with it, and how would you compare to biking?? Should I keep my bike (what i’ve seen is that eboards aren’t good for rain or wetness…bike is ok). is it faster? easy to commute? Does it get easier (will I stop being so uneasy and scared on it lol)??
