Anyone familiar with NIU scooters?

I currently have a Hiboy S2 Pro and quite like it. But with the repeated safety concern of the stem snapping mid-ride, I'm starting to lose confidence in it and considering replacing it with a NIU scooter in the $700-$900 price range.
The biggest thing for me is durability of the scooter. If it's made of thin aluminum like the Hiboy then I don't want it. But for those familiar with the brand, are they durable scooters? (Won't break in half on me) Any help is appreciated thanks
