I'm currently looking at purchasing an electric scooter to travel within 5 miles of my apartment. I'm around 230 lbs and I'd like to carry an additional 5-15 lbs in a backpack.

My main dilemma is that every electric scooter I've searched for has lead me to scooters that have 1 star reviews that say they are incredibly dangerous and fall apart after the first 30 days. For example: this link has a list of the best 5 lightweight scooters and I've had no luck scrounging for a well made critically acclaimed scooter.

Is there an official list on this subreddit that comes from a trusted source I could shop from? The "scooties" video pinned above was pretty confusing with the award names, but if that's all I have to go off of, I'll take another look at it.
