Hey all, I'm hoping to tap your experience after having a bad time with my own recent purchase.
For the last couple years, I've be riding a Swagger 5 (copy of the Xiaomi 365) and really have enjoyed using it as a supplement to my use of public transit. At 25~ lbs, and being pretty small, it was super easy to bring it on buses and trains. Unfortunately, over the last couple months it was plagued with issues that were a PAIN to service. I ended up hitting a pothole that ended up cracking the frame in a part where it was spot welded.
I ended up getting the Hiboy s2 Pro. While I love that it's a smoother ride, with better batter, and hella cool lights for nighttime usage I've come a across a dealbreaker: I'm finding it too unwieldly for public transit. IN my city it's not uncommon to go up or down the equivalent of 2-3 flights of stairs, which is doable with the 37 lbs Hiboy, but it REALLY sucks doing it every day. On top of that it doesn't fold quite as compact due to its larger size, so it's really inconvenient once I'm on a bus or train that starts slowly filling up with people.
So, does anyone have a recommendation for a lightweight scooter? I would love something at around 25 lbs, and but maybe something nicer than the Swagger 5. Hopefully something that can also go 19mph. I'm willing to sacrifice the smoother ride and longer battery life for a better commuting experience.
I'm also willing to admit I'm not exactly a big guy, who could use going to the gym more. Believe me, I'm working on it but until then I'd like to make sure I'm not huffing-and-puffing every time I climb the stairs to my train platform.
