Post Body

I’d like to get my wife and I a couple of identical scooters to have fun on around town on weekends. We live in a hilly town, but Oceanside. The goal will be to cruise the flat sea wall path which is quite lengthy, but getting there will require contending with some 10° hills which can’t be circumnavigated and can be lengthy too.

I don’t think we’ll use them for actual commuting, but I definitely am interested in turn signals, brake lights, headlights and suspension.

We’re located in Canada so the Apollo brand appeals for obvious reasons but I’ve read enough about issues and support that makes me think it might not be a wise choice.

I’m liking the Apollo City 2022 model as it has all the features I think we’d want, but the new Ninebot Max G2 is likely the better option for it’s tried and true pedigree.

What I’m concerned about is whether we’ll need a dual motor model to contend with the hills. We’re totally fine with 20-22mph (32-35kph) top speed so wouldn’t need dual motors for more top speed, but dealing with hills is the primary reason I wonder if dual motor would be wise.

So, is there any other options that are as feature-laden as the Apollo City 2022 or Max G2, or are these likely the best for what we’re trying to achieve which is just casual Sunday riding. 30 km range is a must too, I should mention.
