Today Fmr. Senator JaacTree wrapped up his campaign by hitting the suburbs and regional townships of Edmonton. First stop: the Edmonton Muslim Association of Canada! Here JaacTree spoke with local community leaders about issues facing recent immigrants and new Canadians. “Canada is built on the back of our immigrants,” said the Frm. Senator, “given everything you do for us, it’s high time we do something for you” Amoung the issues raised, many brought up concerns about their child’s tuition rates & the costs of housing. “I think its shameful that some folks in the election want to cut back on international students rather then actually solve the problems perceived to come from them. Absolutely without a doubt I support the continuation of folks from all over the globe coming here to participate in our economy and beef up our educational insitutions on the world stage” he was overheard saying to one voter.
Next JaacTree went to St. Albert, where rising grocery prices were the main issue at the town hall meeting. “It’s so easy to let wealthy grocery tycoons off the hook for this cost of living crisis. Controlling inflation and better management of Canada’s egg and dairy system, I will make sure this parliament deals with that. But if we act like greed from Canada’s own oligarchs has no role to play, then we will fall for this all over again.”
As the evening turned around, JaacTree spent his last campaign stop in Stony Plain, where he spoke of criticism of the Prime Minister. “During my private days I was proud to be a critic of the Prime Minister, and I was very vocal alongside my wonderful friends in the Social Credit Party about how terrible the lack of a budget was!” said the fmr Senator, “my conversations with the PM have been very clear, I will not be his lacky because I am here to represent my people.” “Proper solutions require more than just yelling from the nosebleeds. I requires getting your hands dirty. I know some don’t like that part of fixing things, but you can never fix a car without at least some grease on your hands. And by g-d folks, I plan to make my hands greasy!”
