This is how we know Hammerfell will be the next setting and why I think High Rock will be included
Post Body

Based off the teaser trailer for Elder Scrolls 6

• The shape of the land matches the northern coast of Hammerfell as the camera travels south-west through the Dragontail mountains. Also, the terrain shown matches Hammerfell.

• Next, We first see a ruined town with a huge crater. This matches where Azras Crossing would be and the crater would be where Azra lost control of his magic destroying the town and creating the crater (elder scrolls travels: shadowkey)

• According to the land shape, the town on the coast we see would most likely be Satakalaam.

• The next hint we see is white birds flying around and the only place we’ve ever seen any white birds in the elder scrolls series is in Hammerfell and Solstheim and we know the teaser trailer isn’t showing Solstheim.

• Last, In the distance we see mountains with snow capped peaks which would match where the Jerall mountains would be along the borders of northern Cyrodiil and southern Skyrim. (We’re probably seeing the western part of those mountains)

Also, the hints in Skyrim go beyond just that one quest you do for Saadia and Alik’r warriors.

• The guards always mention “Hammerfells curved swords”

• A lot of the books and NPCs in Skyrim (set 200 years after oblivion) talk about the current political state in Hammerfell.

• The Thalmor are a side focus on Skyrim, but we learn during the civil war questline that Hammerfell (along with Skyrim) were the most vocal in their disagreement with the treaty signed by the empire and the Thalmor to stop “the Great War” (25 years before the events of skyrim). In that treaty they allow for the outlaw of worshipping Talos and the empire gave a large part of Southern Hammerfell to the Thalmor. The redguards obviously hated this and went to war with the Thalmor forcing the emperor to release Hammerfell as an imperial province.

The red guards signed their own treaty with the Thalmor to stop the war (The Second Treaty Of Stros m’kai) but as we learn in Skyrim, “The resistant is alive and well in Hammerfell”.

So to me It would make sense that the Thalmor introduced in Skyrim will have a bigger role in the next game and the best province to expand that story would be in Hammerfell.

There are no hints that High Rock would be included as well, but I wouldn’t be surprised considering Bethesda likes to bring mechanics and systems over from their other games. Ship building in starfield could end up in the next Elder scrolls game as sailing/pirate ships where players get to sail to the islands in the west of Hammerfell, as well as the iliac bay that separates High Rock and Hammerfell.

So my theory is we’ll get both provinces in the game and potentially need to acquire the aid of High Rock to help with the Thalmor threat to the south. (This is just my own theory though)

Let me know what you think
