Understanding Spell Damage
Post Body

I’m not sure how to understand what spells I should use, or how one spell compares to another. I can see slots, FP, and a general description of what the spell does, but whereas weapons tell you what stats they scale with and how well they scale with each stat, I don’t see where spells provide that information, and the attack power on the equipment screen seems to just indicate what kind of manual beating (or lack thereof) I can deliver with my staff in melee.

How can I tell what the exact damage trade off is between glintstone pebble and swift glintstone shard, for example? Or how much using the regal scepter enhances the full moon sorceries compared to a different scepter? Some sorceries also require faith to use β€” will they scale off of faith at all, or is that nothing more than a prerequisite to using them?

Any guidance would be appreciated!
