I recently remembered it while I was mopping up the rest of the dlc enemies and dungeons I didnt finish and buffing myself and equipping blood borne bolts against him was pretty reliable way to dish out damage when he dive bombs away from you. The bleed build up is pretty easy and does a sizable chunk of damage if you just magazine dump him repeatedly.
