Multiple times now the GW has been described in a way that basically makes it seem like the lands between’s version of like a true god like one that’s above all outer gods since we’ve had multiple descriptions stating that it was what created life to begin with, like when we get an explanation for why the frenzied flame is the way it is and casually drops that they think the GW creating life was a mistake. there’s a description or bit of dialogue in the dlc that outright says it but that basically confuses the hell out of me because idk if this is my bias or not but I thought the outer gods were basically equal in power, mainly due to the fact that they’re all basically Uber powerful incomprehensible eldritch beings without physical form that r all able to send down emissaries and completely overhaul the lands between to fit what they embody through whatever they choose to manifest their influence as (like the scarlet rot).
compared to the GW why does it seem soo hard for other outer gods to establish an age and to clarify if u think about it any age that uses the Elden ring to manipulate the lands between to me doesn’t rlly seem like a proper age? your doing it through the Elden ring which is a creation of the GW and an expression of what it embodies which is order hence why it’s an organised collection of great runes that basically control and manipulate reality in the lands between like removing the rune of death effectively gets rid of death entirely. anyway back to the main point to me what the GW is and what it can do as an outer god just feels inconsistent cause as far as we know literally no other outer god can or has done what we know the GW has done just on its own. it was able to just randomly send down a shooting star containing an object that effectively permanently high jacked the lands between and created a massive golden tree from the remains of a crucible affiliated tree that basically proclaimed and solidified it’s hold on the land and thx to the Elden ring basically made it so no matter what happens if someone wanted to do something different from what the GW wants they still have to go about it through the Elden ring. effectively having to use the power of order which is what the GW is all about in order to usurp its hold which is basically impossible if that’s how u have to go about it makes it a weird logic paradox where the GW still ends up on top if u think about it.
as far as I can tell all the outer gods main desire is to take control of the lands between but if the GW could do all that before even getting around to finding someone like marika to spread its agenda to the other areas under the control a different force it couldn’t outright manipulate (like the hornsent or rot) in the way it has done when sending down the ring or metyr, why has literally no other outer god done it. if any have how is it that the GW seems to be the only one able to hold such a tight and continuous grip on the land even after it basically fucks off after basically making what amounts to a glorified admin key to the laws of nature in the form of the Elden ring. if all this is something an outer god can do you’d think whichever was the first one to mess about in the lands between or whichever ones age was before the GW would’ve done exactly that and would never have loosened its hold on the land so it’s just got me all confused.
now what exactly r the limits for the outer gods and if their limits as outer gods r different from the GW’s what is it cause it can’t be an outer god then if what it can and can’t do is so fundamentally different (and burdened by less limits) from the rest of its kind.
